Creature Thoughts, Oct. 2017: The Species Agreement

When a spirit chooses to incarnate, it picks the species of choice for a reason. Whether we walk the earth as humans, or dogs, cats, birds, or insects, for some reason (which we must assume is a very good one), our spirits have chosen that form.

Once the form is chosen, we have entered into an agreement with that species. By inhabiting that body, we have taken on all of its blessings, and all of its challenges. Those blessings and challenges include everything which makes that species unique, including instincts, genetic behavior patterns, and physical attributes and problems.

Some Temporary Changes

Thank you for your patience as I turn down the volume a bit for a little while. I hope to be able to gradually return to more normal levels very soon.

Soul Anchors (from Creature Thoughts, Sept 2014)

Many of us would say that our soul-anchor animal friends have seen us through some of the hardest times of our lives. They offer shelter through pain, fear and deep depression. They bring us comfort and so very many reasons to laugh, even on our darkest days. They keep our spirit’s ship secure when the waters get choppy and the skies turn black. They are the sunshine that breaks through the clouds to remind us that all will be well again.

Almost everyone I know who has loved animals, or at least those people with enough years behind them to have relished in the experience, can tell the story of at least one soul-anchor.

Who are your special ones? Have you known more than one? Are they still with you in the physical? Or are they now forever with you in the beyond?

They love us regardless of who we are. They love us even though we are far from perfect. They hold no expectations, they make no judgments. They are an island of unconditional love in a hostile sea.

Or perhaps it’s not so much that they love us despite ourselves. Perhaps they simply have more faith in our hearts’ potential than we do.

April Update

I have had a few people email recently to ask if I’m still living on planet Earth. My apologies for not having sent out a Creature Thoughts in a while, and for the website/blog having been so quiet. Life in general has been keeping me on the sidelines — or perhaps it has pushed what used to be life in general to the sidelines. Either way works.
