Dear Friends,

As you all probably have heard, times have been tough here at Starling’s Nest. Our whole family was down with COVID, and it has affected every detail of life. We are all doing better, but some aspects of our home life will take longer to recover than others.

Despite the struggles, I walk forth with gratitude in my heart. Much of that gratitude is thanks to all of you.

For nearly a quarter of a century, I have known your dear animal friends, and they have each won a special place in my life. Of course, they have brought their beloved humans with them.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of their, and your, world. Thank you for all the laughter and joy. Thank you for the heart-felt tears we have shed together. Thank you for the moments of dawn, as you welcomed new family members into your lives. Thank you for the long vigils into the night as you have said farewell to your hearts’ best friends. Whether they are moments of happiness, or moments of sorrow, each memory we have shared has been a treasure.

Thank you for allowing me to count all of you, animal and human, among my treasures.

A blessed Thanksgiving to those who celebrate, and a blessed day filled with gratitude, to those who do not.
